DCR is honoured to have Dr Boon give a lecture as part of the CORES Guest Lecuture Programme. His presentation will begin at 14:00 and is open to all students. After his talk there will be a discussion period, then the CORES PhD students will meet with Dr Boon.
The talk will focus on modern paintings and their stability problems. Photographic evidence will be presented with Hirox microscopy and there will be a discussion of results from in-depth studies of paint microsamples with FTIR, Raman, SEM-EDX and mass spectrometry from works by Pierre Soulages, J-P Riopelle, Karel Appel, Frances Picabia, and several other contemporary painters.
